What is Entertaiment?
Entertaiment is the experience or sense of enjoyment that one gets from entertainment. Its purpose is generally light and amusing, but it can also be serious, such as in a ceremony, religious festival or satire. It evolves and can be adapted on any scale, from the individual who chooses a private entertainment from a now enormous range of pre-recorded products; to a party; to a performance intended for thousands or a global audience.
According to Bates (2000), entertainment can be defi ned as an activity understood objectively; it involves communication featuring external stimulus; it offers pleasure; and it requires an audience that is passive in nature.
