Entertaiment is audience-centered commercial culture that keeps individuals amused, engaged, and diverted. It has a broad range of meanings and uses, extending from private entertainment for a single person, to the organization of a banquet or party; from performances intended for hundreds of people, to those that reach thousands; from escapist fiction to political satire and other forms of social criticism. Many familiar forms of entertainment have developed a cross-media presence and demonstrate an unlimited potential for remix and creative reuse, ensuring the continued relevance of many themes, images, and structures.
