Entertaiment is an essential part of the human experience. It can be as simple as a person choosing his or her own private entertainment from the now enormous array of pre-recorded products; as complex as a banquet adapted to any size and type of audience, including the individual who selects it from a restaurant menu; or as elaborate as professional athletes staging competitions for global audiences. Even necessary skills such as cooking or fencing, that were once a means of livelihood for some, are now entertainment for all.
